Rental Housing: Preservation and Rehabilitation

Recognizes programs that best preserve or rehabilitate affordable rental housing.

Note: Individual developments are not eligible for an award.

Judging Criteria

Rental Housing entries will be judged on the degree to which they:

  • Are innovative
  • Are replicable
  • Respond to an important state housing need
  • Demonstrate measurable benefits to HFA targeted customers
  • Have a proven track record of success in the marketplace
  • Provide benefits that outweigh costs
  • Demonstrate effective use of resources
  • Effectively employ partnerships
  • Achieve strategic objectives

New York City Housing Development Corporation:
HDC Housing Impact Bond Resolution & NYCHA PACT

HDC has expanded its mission to serve as the key financing partner on the NYCHA 2.0 PACT plan to help bring capital repairs to buildings and apartments, and improved quality of life to residents living in NYCHAā€™s public housing. To support these efforts, HDC recently launched its inaugural Housing Impact Bond Resolution ā€“ an innovative financing tool that will help the Cityā€™s to achieve an ambitious plan to repair and preserve 62,000 public housing units by the end of 2028.
