District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency:
DCHFA celebrated its 40th year of providing homeownership opportunities and financing affordable rental housing for the residents of the District of Columbia. In March 2019, the agency launched “DCHFA@40,” a yearlong campaign that paid homage to DCHFA’s history, highlighted its current programs and looked ahead to the future of the agency.
Georgia Department of Community Affairs/Georgia Housing and Finance Authority:
Southeastern States Housing Conference
The Southeastern States Housing Conference brings housing professionals from all over the country together to workshop new ideas surrounding affordable housing opportunities. Attendees at the 2019 conference in Georgia connected with industry powerhouses, dived deep into the important topics in the industry, and participated in many roundtable discussions. Dare we say that DCA propelled this annual event into the future of affordable housing? Join us on a journey “Back to the Future!”
Iowa Finance Authority:
Guinness Book of World Records Event
The Iowa Finance Authority assisted a record number of homebuyers in 2019. To celebrate, involve the community and gain earned media around this milestone, we set out to break another record involving homes of a different variety – a Guinness Book of World Record for the most gingerbread homes decorated simultaneously.
MaineHousing: Our First 50 Years Serving Maine
Throughout 2019, MaineHousing celebrated our 50th anniversary and looked back at our many accomplishments throughout the years. This lookback provided some of us with the opportunity to reminisce and others learned about our agency’s history for the first time. Much of our work today is shaped by the successes, challenges, wins, and losses our agency and staff experienced – and with a year of delving into our history, we sought to learn which lessons we would carry forward.
Mission Possible – NCSHA Destination Guide and Video
To welcome NCSHA and all conference attendees to the City of Boston and to show what the city has to offer, MassHousing produced the 2019 Boston Destination Guide and made it available on everyone’s cell phone. And, instead of traditional opening remarks, MassHousing created a “Welcome to Boston” video starring MassHousing’s Executive Staff.
Annual Funding Announcement
On November 21, Minnesota Housing announced $254 million in funding to create and preserve more than 2,665 homes throughout the state. Communicating the impact of numbers like these can be challenging. For years, our annual funding announcement has felt similar to a traditional grand opening where public officials follow each other up to the podium. This year, we moved away from that model. Instead, we turned to a conversation-based event to communicate the impact of our work.
New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency:
2019 Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development
The Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development is New Jersey’s premier forum for these issues in the state. The conference, which marked its 23rd year in 2019, is a year-long planning efforts and involves multitudes of speakers and panels on timely topics, two awards ceremonies and other special events that draw key leaders from numerous stakeholder industries from throughout the state.
