Management Innovation entries will be judged on the degree to which they:

California Housing Finance Agency:
Achieving Next-Level Accountability

CalHFAā€™s IT Division was among the first California state departments to achieve SSAE18 compliance for its IT controls. This saves the agency time and money with auditors and gives confidence to clients and vendors that their data is safe.

Idaho Housing and Finance Association:
Happy Borrowers, Happy Partners: How an App Helped Transform Our Business

Idaho Housing and Finance Association developed Borrower Connection, a secure digital web application for borrowers to make loan payments, review the status of their loans, get their escrow and tax documents, and view their payment history. The digital application runs on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. The app also allows our six partnering HFAs to customize the user interface to match their brand.

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development:
Maryland Opportunity Zone Information Exchange

The first comprehensive resource of its kind in the nation, the Maryland Opportunity Zone Information Exchange is an interactive, GIS website featuring projects and businesses in Maryland's Opportunity Zones. It serves as the stateā€™s core tool to facilitate Opportunity Zone investment. The exchange is public with the latest information for investors, fund managers, developers, businesses and other stakeholders, including, most importantly, a list of the state and local incentives in each zone.

Minnesota Housing:
Multifamily Business Flow Portal

Minnesota Housing ā€˜s Portal transformed the Multifamily Division through process improvement with supporting technology .It furthers the Minnesota Housingā€™s mission with a focus on clear, current, and collaborative results. Leveraging the Salesforce Platform, the Portal is used to process funding application requests. As a cloud-based product, customers and staff were able to access information in real-time.

North Carolina Housing Finance Agency:
DataMart

To address the challenge in producing consistent production reports across a diverse range of programs, the Agency worked to develop DataMart, a data warehouse, that pulls information from the Agencyā€™s line of business systems, and then cleans, standardizes and formats within a staging area for consistency. This new technology allows for quick, consistent reporting that works with an OLAP cube to create a user-friendly interface that allows a more exploratory relationship with data.

Tennessee Housing Development Agency:
Tailor-Made Information Dominance

In 2017, Forbes magazine predicted that ever-changing technology would be the main challenge facing businesses and business leaders in the future. As THDA's business has grown exponentially since then, so have our needs for software programs that are adaptable, inter-operable, and current. Third party solutions were not able to meet the need, so THDA's IT Division tailor-made a series of programs to keep the Agency active and up-to date and customer-ready.
