Masshousing:
Pie in the Sky
At Thanksgiving, MassHousing’s Executive Team had a unique way to recognize the staff’s hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic. To start the holiday season – senior staffers delivered homemade pies to staff in 58 cities and towns in Massachusetts. The pies were purchased from a community organization that provides home delivered meals and nutritional services to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. The sales during the holidays helps to support their work.

Pandemic-Era Employee Engagement: Mouse in the House
“Mouse in the House” is a virtual game created by HR to improve morale and employee engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, where employees attempt to identify where an anthropomorphic mouse was “caught on camera." The resulting images are sent via email to agency employees to enlist their help in locating where the mouse was last pictured, with prizes offered to the first three employees to guess the correct location. This initiative has been tremendously successful in reaching all employees.

Innovation Through Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
We recognize that systemic failures have driven inequities in communities of color. To make positive change, we must ask ourselves some hard questions. We believe that investing in our internal culture through the lens of equity, diversity and inclusion, minds and behaviors will be shifted to create a rippling effect to the external ecosystem of our communities, stakeholders and partners. Diversity of people, experiences and perspectives drives innovation and our future.
