Alternative Workplace Strategies

COVID-19 has presented a unique opportunity for MassHousing to transform its business for the long term. Implementing an Alternative Workplace Strategy plan will help MassHousing’s work culture evolve through critical improvements to business processes and enhanced use of technology. Michigan State Housing Development Authority:
MSHDA Legal Training Program

"In 2011, Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s (“MSHDA”) Legal division created a training program for attorneys based on three areas: (1) Real Estate Law; (2) Affordable Housing; and (3) MSHDA’s Act, Rules, and Case Law. The program was created to respond to the challenges listed below:
1. Difficulty finding attorneys with relevant experience after the Great Recession.
2. Loss of Senior Staff Attorneys.
3. Anticipated Difficulty Keeping Attorneys Due to End of Defined Benefits Plan"

New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency:
COVID-19 Response: Call Center

In 2020, NJHMFA administered the New Jersey Small Landlord Emergency Grant Program to assist small rental property owners and their tenants during the COVID-19 crisis. A robust call center infrastructure was designed, built, and staffed by NJHMFA team members, ultimately addressing over 15,000 calls. NJHMFA staff created a centralized system in SharePoint to track trends in real-time and direct inquiries requiring follow up to the most appropriate staff members or translators for 11 languages.
