Migrant Families Relief Fund

MA Migrant Relief Fund

In keeping with conference tradition, NCSHA invites you to give back to the city of Boston by contributing to the Massachusetts Migrant Families Relief Fund.

A partnership between the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and The Boston Foundation, this fund addresses the acute humanitarian crisis faced by migrants seeking asylum in Massachusetts and supports the local community-based organizations directly serving these families and individuals.

The Massachusetts Migrant Families Relief Fund will:

  • Rapidly deploy emergency financial assistance through a trusted network of human services and shelter organizations in the Commonwealth to ensure families, children, and individuals have access to essentials including temporary accommodations, food, clothing, diapers, hygiene items, and transportation.
  • Support livelihood opportunities and assistance such as health screenings, translation services, legal assistance, work authorizations, ESOL classes, and other socio-economic and cultural integration supports.
  • Provide operating funding to the local community-based organizations providing direct services.

The United Way of Massachusetts Bay and the Boston Foundation both have extensive experience managing emergency relief efforts, including the distribution of tens of millions of dollars collectively during the Covid-19 pandemic.
