NCSHA Honors State Housing Finance Agencies for Affordable Housing Innovation

Published on October 27, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC — On October 27, the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) recognized 16 state Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) for initiatives that effectively address affordable housing challenges.

“This year’s award winners reflect the innovation state HFAs around the country have shown in responding to the coronavirus, as well as their progress in solving the longstanding housing affordability needs of their states and the nation,” said NCSHA Executive Director Stockton Williams.

Established in 1984, NCSHA’s Annual Awards for Program Excellence identify and elevate industry best practices and encourage continued HFA innovation. Member HFAs are eligible to submit initiatives for consideration in seven categories: Communications, Homeownership, Legislative Advocacy, Management Innovation, Rental Housing, Special Achievement, and Special Needs Housing. In 2020, 38 HFAs submitted 112 entries in this program.

The following award recipients were recognized during NCSHA’s Annual Conference & Showcase, attended virtually by more than 1,600 member affordable housing leaders and professionals. All the nominated programs can be found at ncsha.org/awards.
