Barry Kahn

W. Barry Kahn has been a managing director of Hettig Kahn Holdings since December 1977. Hettig Kahn, located in Houston, has been involved in the development, construction and management of thousands of affordable units financed with low income housing tax credits in addition to market rate units and commercial buildings, and an assisted living/memory care facility. He has been an advocate for affordable housing since 1994 and is a past President of the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, the leading advocate for the tax credit industry in Texas. Mr. Kahn is Vice Chair of the NAHB Multifamily Council, member of the Steering Committee of the Housing Credit Group and a Senior Life Delegate to the NAHB Leadership Council. He is also a board member of the Texas Association of Builders, and on a variety of its committees. He is also a member of the Housing Advisory Group, a Washington DC tax credit advocacy group, and a founding member of the Texas Builders Foundation. Mr. Kahn was named Developer of the Year in 2010 by the Texas Association of Builders and received a US Congressional Recognition Award for South Acres Ranch, a single family for rent affordable housing development.

Mr. Kahn graduated from Indiana University with B.S. in accounting and finance and then received a law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
