Gov. DeSantis Extends Executive Order on Foreclosures and Evictions

As the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) continues to remain open and continuing all business activity, we want to keep Florida families and stakeholders abreast of housing updates.

In Executive Order 20-180, Governor DeSantis extended Executive Order 20-94 that provides targeted, temporary relief from certain mortgage foreclosures and evictions until September 1, 2020, without relieving an individualā€™s obligation to make mortgage payments and rent.Ā  The Governor has also amended the order toĀ ā€‹specify that final actions in eviction or foreclosure proceedings are paused only when the tenant or homeowner has beenĀ adversely affected by the COVID-19 emergencyā€ which is defined as ā€œloss of employment, diminished wages or business income, or other monetary loss realized during the Florida State of Emergency directly impacting the ability of a residential tenant to make rent payments.ā€Click here to review.

As a reminder, Florida Housing has assembled a resource page with relevant information forĀ homeowners, residents, developers, apartment owners and management companies, and local governments regarding COVID-19.Ā This information can be accessed by clicking here or from our homepage by clicking on the COVID-19 link atĀ www.floridahousing.org.
