    The Michigan Main Street Center, a part of the Specialized Technical Assistance and Revitalization Strategy (STARS) Division, in partnership with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) at the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), recently unveiled renderings for proposed façade improvements for three buildings in downtown Portland. The buildings are: 108-110 Kent Street (Duff Chadwicks & Associates), 123-125 Kent Street (Around the Block Quilt Shop and Donna Marie's Studio of Dance), and 136-140 Kent Street (PCMI-West).

    New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) Commissioner Lori Grifa today announced that the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency’s (HMFA) Board approved a financing commitment from the state’s Special Needs Housing Trust Fund to a non-profit mental health organization to develop Marilyn’s Hope, a community-based residential facility in Morris County for mental health consumers.

    The South Carolina Housing Trust Fund, administered by the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC State Housing), provides financial assistance to eligible nonprofit organizations for the development of affordable housing for low to very low-income families or individuals. The SC State Housing Board of Commissioners recently approved more than $1 million in Housing Trust Fund awards.

The grants, offered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA), will provide service-enriched homes for dozens of families, allowing them to manage their illnesses while receiving critically-needed support services.
