A FEAST FOR THE HEART AND THE MIND
Hear Jeannette Walls’ triumphant account of overcoming a difficult childhood with her dysfunctional but vibrant family, a story she first told in the New York Times bestseller, The Glass Castle. Her heartfelt tale of thriving in spite of circumstance resonates in these tumultuous times. Walls has further mined her family history in her new book, Half Broke Horses: A True Novel. Walls is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Christopher Award for helping to “affirm the highest values of the human spirit.”
Pulitzer Prize Winner Doris Kearns Goodwin provides trenchant and enthralling commentary on current events by demonstrating how history has answered questions similar to those we face today. With a deft wit and an uncanny ability to weave stories that put you “right in the room” as history occurs, Goodwin offers extraordinary insight into the lives of the leaders who have shaped the United States. Her most recent book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, inspires business and political leaders of today by teaching Lincoln’s quiet but powerful leadership qualities. Goodwin is the personmost turn to for a keen historical perspective on political and current events.
