New Financing to Create, Preserve 773 Affordable Homes

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has approved a total of $190 million in financing for the new construction or preservation of almost 800 affordable apartments across western Washington. โ€œWeโ€™re proud to be part of bridging the affordable housing gap, one apartment at a time, in rural, urban and suburban communities alike,โ€ said Karen Miller, chair of the Housing Finance Commission.

$55 Million in New Markets Tax Credits Awarded to Support Community Development

The Colorado Growth and Revitalization Fund (CGR Fund), administered by Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), announced today it has been awarded $55 million in New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC). The U.S. Department of the Treasuryโ€™s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) awarded $3.5 billion in NMTC to 73 entities throughout the U.S., with the CGR Fund being the only awardee in Colorado.

New Affordable Apartments, Retail Complex Opens In Newark

A grand opening ceremony was held today for Boulevard West, a new mixed-use building providing 89 apartments affordable to working families along with retail space on a section of the vacant, former New Horizons public housing site. The event was attended by New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) executive staff, local officials, and representatives of The Michaels Organization.

HUD Releases Housing Counseling NOFA for FY 2019

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on May 24 issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for its Housing Counseling Grant program for fiscal year (FY) 2019. All HUD-approved counseling entities, including state HFAs, are eligible to apply.

CHFA Announces 2019 Round One Low Income Housing Tax Credit Awards

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is pleased to announce that it will award state Affordable Housing Tax Credits and 4 percent federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits to support the construction or preservation of 1,344 affordable apartments across 12 project sites located in the Denver metro area, northern and southern Front Range, and Western Slope.

Affordability Extended at Lowell Housing Community for Seniors and Disabled Residents Resulting From $7.5 Million in MassHousing Financing

The non-profit Rogers Hall Corporation also plans property renovation at the 61-unit Rogers Hall where affordability will be extended for at least 25 years. Senior citizens and disabled residents living at the 61-unit Rogers Hall in Lowell will have their affordable rents extended for at least 25 years and will see property improvements as a result of $7.5 million in MassHousing affordable housing financing to the non-profit Rogers Hall Corporation.
