WHEDA Finishes Fiscal Year 2019 with Nearly a Half-Billion Dollars in Single Family Lending
In Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19), the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) provided mortgage loan funding to 3,703 individuals and families totaling $480. 8 million. This is the third largest funding total in WHEDA history and the best since 2007, just before the housing crisis hit in 2008. “Our affordable housing mission continues to grow at a rapid pace,” said WHEDA Single Family Director David Rouse.
Michelle Miles Appointed to CHFA’s Board of Directors
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is pleased to announce that Gov. Jared Polis has appointed Michelle Miles, Trinidad mayor pro-tem, as a new member of CHFA’s board of directors. In addition, Gov. Polis has reappointed Max Tyler and Julie Brewen to CHFA’s board. Tyler is a former state representative and current chair of CHFA’s board. Brewen is the executive director of Housing Catalyst and current secretary/treasurer of CHFA’s board.
Affordability Extended at Reading Housing Community for Seniors and Disabled Residents Resulting From $10.2 Million in MassHousing Financing
Senior citizens and disabled residents living at the 74-unit Peter Sanborn Place in Reading will have their affordable rents extended for at least 24 years and will see property improvements as a result of $10.2 million in MassHousing affordable housing financing to the non-profit Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative (AHSC) and First Church in Malden Homes, Inc.

MassHousing Closes on $11.2 Million in Financing for 52 Units of Affordable Rental Housing and Condominiums on the East Boston Waterfront
MassHousing has closed on a total of $11.2 million in affordable housing financing to WinnCompanies for the development of 22 new rental housing units and 30 new condominiums on the East Boston Waterfront. The Clippership Apartments and Clippership Condominiums will create new homes for households across a broad range of incomes, including 14 new workforce homeownership units in the condominium development.
Louisiana Housing Corporation Launches New Interactive Data Map to Support Affordable Housing Policies
The Louisiana Housing Corporation has launched an interactive mapping tool aimed at helping the state’s housing advocates, developers and policymakers leverage a wide range of data to make more informed decisions related to affordable housing. The online tool, which is available to the public via the LHC website, was developed using the interactive data-mapping PolicyMap framework.
Assistance Available for Development of Affordable Housing
North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) is currently accepting applications for affordable housing development assistance through the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) programs, and the state’s Housing Incentive Fund (HIF). “The development support North Dakota Housing Finance Agency administers aids communities in addressing the housing needs of their most vulnerable populations,” said Dave Flohr, NDHFA interim executive director.
