Kentucky Housing Corporation | Wow Wheel Wednesdays

After a nearly decade-long restructuring, including massive cuts, the threat of a pension overhaul, several changes in leadership and a shift in corporate culture, Kentucky Housing Corporation's morale was at an all-time low. A task force of staff “influencers” formed to devise ways to engage staff and excite them about coming to work.

Idaho Housing and Finance Association | Making the Best Impression – Impactful On-Boarding

On-boarding new hires in a thoughtful, professional, and phased approach sets the tone for what they think about having said "yes" to joining your company. Beyond words, it shows them how much employees are valued and sets the tone for their future engagement and fulfillment with their job. At IHFA, we have high employee engagement and low turnover and the on-boarding process sets that tone early in one's career.

Washington State Housing Finance Commission | Microsoft Partnership: Stretching Our Resources

While exploring bond recycling, we forged a productive collaboration with Washington’s own Microsoft Corporation that both filled a critical need for bridge financing and helped the company deploy its capital for affordable workforce housing. Microsoft is also joining the Housing Finance Commission and other corporate partners in innovative financing efforts to build still more housing in our state’s highest-cost, tightest housing markets.

MassHousing | Capital Adequacy Study – Opportunity Fund Initiative

The Opportunity Fund leverages the strength of the Agency’s balance sheet (rather than using state tax dollars or the proceeds of bond sales) and allows MassHousing to deploy resources strategically to fulfill its mission to confront the housing challenges of the Commonwealth.

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority | CHFA's Executive Dashboard

CHFA’s Executive Dashboard is an interactive tool used internally that provides a streamlined, visual representation of information collected from CHFA’s enterprise data warehouses. The dashboard was completed in August 2019 and has become a key resource for CHFA leadership to identify trends and inform decision making. It features all available data from CHFA’s homeownership and community development areas of business focus in a well-organized and intuitive structure.

Rhode Island Housing | PolicyMap: Achieving Legislative Objectives via Data Tools and Rich Reporting

RIHousing supports statewide legislative advocacy efforts and General Assembly member engagement and education via a newly launched, innovative online portal and first-of-its-kind customized reporting that provides district level data on housing needs and RIHousing programs at legislators’ fingertips. This effort has allowed us to use data to boost our advocacy strategy, develop and convene broad-based support around housing issues, and provide a central, statewide, and shared platform for data.

New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency | New Jersey Foreclosure Mediation Assistance Program

On April 29, 2019, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill 664, codifying the New Jersey Judiciary’s Foreclosure Mediation Assistance Program (FMAP) as a permanent program with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) to provide free housing counseling assistance to homeowners at risk of housing instability to take effect on November 1, 2019, and further dedicating a funding stream to fund the program in perpetuity.

Michigan State Housing Development Authority | MSHDA Bond Cap Increase

MSHDA legislative staff worked with both stakeholders and elected officials to pass much needed legislation allowing them to continue their affordable housing mission. The proposed bill amended MSHDA’s governing statute (Public Act 346 of 1966) to increase MSHDA’s limit on corporate bonds and notes from what was, at the time, a $3.4 billion limit to a maximum of $5 billion.

MassHousing | REACH – Addressing the Racial Homeownership Gap

MassHousing and the Racial Equity Advisory Council for Homeownership (REACH) successfully advocated for and secured $60 million in funds for a new homeownership production program to narrow the racial homeownership gap and also increase funds by $2.5 million for down payment assistance.

Virginia Housing | Affordable Alternative – Advancing the Next Generation of Manufactured Housing

Virginia Housing’s efforts to promote innovative construction techniques through factory-built housing has better informed local planners, officials, and the public about how the manufactured housing industry has advanced its construction methods and products. We see our role as being able to facilitate new ideas, new products and new concepts by showcasing new affordable home options across Virginia.
