Senate Dear Colleague Letter on FY 2022 HOME Funding
This letter was sent to Chair Brian Schatz (D-HI) and Ranking Member Susan Collins (R-ME) of the Senate Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies in support of the HOME Investment Partnerships program. Signed by 45 senators, the letter urges the subcommittee to support President Bidenโs budget request and provide $1.9 billion for the HOME program in FY 2022.
Debt in America: An Interactive Map (Urban Institute)
This interactive map developed by the Urban Institute uses data from more than five million consumer records from the three major credit bureaus and the U.S. Census Bureauโs American Community Survey to show how individual debt burdens vary by geography and how they differ between white communities and communities of color. Some HFAs have used the dashboard data when drafting their Homeowner Assistance Fund plans.

HUD Interim Final Rule Restoring Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Definitions and Certifications
This interim final rule issued by the Department of Housing and Urban Developmentโs Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity and effective July 31, 2021, repeals the 2020 Preserving Community and Neighborhood Choice (PCNC) regulations and reinstates aspects of the 2015 Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing regulations, including certain definitions and certification requirements, that had been repealed by the PCNC rule.
