The Terner Center for Housing Innovations │The Links Between Affordable Housing and Economic Mobility

The Terner Center for Housing Innovations at UC Berkley (The Terner Center), in partnership with the California Community Reinvestment Corporation (CCRC), released new research highlighting the impact living in affordable housing has on residents’ economic mobility and other positive outcomes.

IRS Notice 2018-45, Population Figures for Housing Credit Program

In May 2018, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued Notice 2018-45 providing state-by-state resident population figures for purposes of determining the 2018 Housing Credit volume cap for each state. The 2018 volume cap currently is the greater of $2.70 per capita or $3,105,000 per state.

Treasury and IRS Request Topics for Priority Guidance Plan: Document Resource

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) published Notice 2018-43 soliciting public comment on recommendations for items that Treasury/IRS should include in its 2018-2019 Priority Guidance Plan. The Priority Guidance Plan identifies guidance projects that Treasury and IRS intend to work on during the period from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

IRS Notice 2018-17, Housing Credit Disaster Relief for Puerto Rico

Provides disaster relief guidance specific to Puerto Rico's recovery from Hurricane Maria.

Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017

Appropriates Fiscal Year 2017 funding for federal agencies, including HUD and USDA rural housing programs.

CHCDF Sign-on Letter to Appropriations Committees on FY 2019 Funding

This letter was sent to Chairman Richard Shelby and Ranking Member Patrick Leahy of the Senate Appropriations Committee, as well as Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen and Ranking Member Nita Lowey of the House Appropriations Committee in support of vital federal programs that provide housing assistance and community development resources to aid low income Americans.

HOME Coalition FY 2019 Sign-on Letter

NCSHA, along with 1,627 national, state, and local organizations, sent this letter to Chairwoman Susan Collins and Ranking Member Jack Reed of the Senate THUD Subcommittee and Chairman Mario Diaz-Balart and Ranking Member David Price of the House THUD Subcommittee, to express strong support for $1.5 billion in funding for HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program in Fiscal Year (FY) 2019.
