Florida Housing Board Approves Funding in Hurricanes Irma and Michael Impacted Counties

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) Board of Directors during todayโ€™s board meeting unanimously approved funding for 23 developments in hurricane-impacted counties in Florida. This past July and August, Florida Housing issued requests for applications (RFAs) offering Community Development Block Grant- Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Rental Recovery Loan Program (RRLP) funding for the construction of both affordable and workforce housing in Hurricanes Irma and Michael impacted areas.

NJHMFA Celebrates Rehabilitation of Apartments Affordable to Families in Newark

A ribbon-cutting ceremony today marked the completion of the major rehabilitation of a decades-old building with 200 apartments affordable for working families in the cityโ€™s Central Ward. New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) executive staff attended the ceremony. The project, 440 Washington Street, was co-developed by BRP Companies, based in New York City, and the St. James A.M.E. Development Corporation.

SDHDA Awards $9.2 Million for Affordable Housing in South Dakota

South Dakotans will be seeing additional housing development and preservation across the state. South Dakota Housing Development Authorityโ€™s (SDHDA) Board of Commissioners approved the award of more than $9.2 million in funding for housing activities. The developments will receive $2.7 million in Housing Tax Credits, $2.9 million in HOME Investment Partnership Program funds, $1.5 million in Housing Opportunity Funds and $2.1 million in Housing Trust Funds.

MassHousing Commits $7.9 Million in Financing for New, 51-Unit Mixed-Income Rental Housing Community in Revere

MassHousing has committed $7.9 million in affordable housing financing to the non-profit The Neighborhood Developers (TND) for the construction of the 571 Revere Street in Revere. The MassHousing financing will allow The Neighborhood Developers to construct 51 units of new affordable housing for households across a broad range of incomes, including 19 new workforce housing units.

Montgomery Nomination Confirmed by Senate Committee

The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairsย confirmedย Brian Montgomeryโ€™s nomination to become Deputy Secretary of HUD earlier today. The committee approved Montgomery, who is HUD Assistant Secretary for Housing and FHA Commissioner and currently also serving as Acting Deputy Secretary, by a voice vote of 20โ€“5.

MassHousing Closes on Financing for New, 14-Unit Workforce Housing Community on a Vacant Parcel in Dorchester

MassHousing has provided a total of $4.1 million in affordable housing financing to TLee Development LLC, for the construction of 14 new energy-efficient apartments on a vacant parcel at 191 Talbot Avenue, in Dorchester. All 14 of the new apartments will be deed-restricted workforce housing units affordable to moderate-income households.

Like It Forward: CHFA Donates $12,695 to La Puente

The donation was the result of Like It Forward, CHFAโ€™s annual Corporate Giving social media campaign. Over the course of three weeks, CHFA invited the public to visit CHFAโ€™s social media channels to like and share posts featuring information and stories about La Puenteโ€™s impact in Alamosa and the San Luis Valley. For each like and share the posts received, CHFA donated $5 to La Puente.
