Johnson Promoted to Senior Director of Operations for MaineHousing

MaineHousing is pleased to announce that Jamie Johnson has been promoted to the position of Senior Director of Operations. Johnson, who joined the agency in 2007, has held a variety of roles within the agency, including most recently serving as the director of planning and operations in the Communications and Planning Department.

Pritzker Administration Relaunches โ€œOpening Doorsโ€ Homebuyer Program

Governor JB Pritzker announced the reopening of a homeownership program designed to help working class families and underrepresented communities of color across the state of Illinois. Offered through the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), the Opening Doors or Abriendo Puertas program is designed to aid lower-income borrowers and households of color who have historically faced steeper barriers in their path toward homeownership with $6,000ย in forgivable assistance for down payment and/or closing costs.

DCHFAโ€™s Investment in The Paxton Brings 148 Affordable Units to Ward 7

Theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) financed the construction of The Paxton, 148 affordable apartments in Ward 7. The Agency issued $46.92 million in tax exempt bonds and underwrote $42.02 million in D.C. and federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) equity for this new construction project.

Florida Housing Finance Corporation Shares Hometown Heroes Housing Program Update in Honor of Labor Day

Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) announced today that the Hometown Heroes Housing program has provided nearly $25 million in assistance to help essential community workers purchase a home in Florida. In late May, Governor DeSantis announced the launch of Hometown Heroes, which provides down payment and closing cost assistance to more than 100 eligible professions.

Golfers Raise $75,000 for Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute

Colorado Housing and Finance Authorityโ€™s (CHFA) annual David W. Herlinger Golf Tournament raised $75,000 for Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute (RMMFI) on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. RMMFI is a Denver-based nonprofit and Community Development Financial Institution that creates the space for communities and people of all backgrounds to realize their unique potential through the power of entrepreneurship.

PHFA Issues RFP to Fund Mixed-Use Development Projects

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency today is issuing a Request for Proposals for new construction, or the rehabilitation, of mixed-use projects seeking financial support. Funding will be provided through the Community Revitalization Fund Program. Mixed-use projects combine residential and retail/commercial space in the same building and often serve as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization. The deadline for proposal submission is 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.

DCHFA Finances Construction of 108 Senior Apartments on Historic Barry Farm’s Site

Theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) has issued $33.7 million in tax exempt bonds for the construction of 108 apartments in Ward 8โ€™s Barry Farm neighborhood. All units at this mixed-income development recently named The Asberry will be reserved for seniors age 55 or older.
