Program Description

A new program established to provide financial relief for renters and homeowners who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 115 percent of AMI.
โ€ข Must be at risk of losing their housing or demonstrate that the COVID pandemic has had an adverse impact on their employment, income, or monthly expenses (i.e., medical).
โ€ข Must be unable to pay their rental, mortgage, or homeowner/mortgage insurance payments beginning on March 1, 2020, or demonstrate their inability to make payments going forward.
โ€ข Must be legally authorized to be in the United States.
โ€ข Participants of any other mortgage assistance or forbearance program are not eligible until the expiration of the assistance or forbearance period.
โ€ข Must not be a current recipient of other federal rental assistance. Does not apply to Housing Credit properties without a rental subsidy.
โ€ข Landlord cannot be a relative.

Eligible Activities, if other, details:

This program may help with the application fees, rental and utility payments, and, on rare occasions, security deposits for new housing options, only when the alternative is homelessness.
