2020 Disasters Tax Relief Act
This bill, introduced by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), would provide tax relief to individuals and businesses in areas for which a major disaster is declared under the Stafford Act between January 1, 2020, and 60 days after the bill's enactment. The bill includes supplemental disaster Housing Credits for states experiencing a major disaster.Ā
CPD Memo: Suspension and Waiver of the HOME Program Consortium Qualification Deadline in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
The Office of Community Planning and Development within the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued this memorandum suspending the HOME Programās statutory deadline and waiving the HOME regulatory deadline for qualification or requalification of urban counties and consortia to provide HOME Participating Jurisdictions additional time to complete these processes due to the unanticipated circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic. HUD has extended the deadline from September 30, 2020, to November 30, 2020.

HUD Disparate Impact Final Rule
This final rule amends the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmentās 2013 disparate impact standard and burden-shifting framework, which is HUDās implementation of the 1968 Fair Housing Actās Discriminatory Effects Standard. HUD intends the amendments to the disparate impact standard to reflect the U.S. Supreme Courtās 2015 ruling in Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs v. Inclusive Communities Project, Inc.
