Construction to Restore Affordable Housing Begins at Historic Warren Hall Building
Construction and restoration has begun on affordable housing units at the historic Warren Hall building, following the closing of financing, a collaborative effort between Allston Brighton CDC (ABCDC), Schochet, Mayorโs Office of Housing at the City of Boston (MOH), Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC), MassHousing, and the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), with private sector equity provided by R4 Capital and Dorfman Capital.

On May 28, 2026, theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) issued $23.8 million in tax exempt bonds, underwrote $14.9 million in federal funding, and leveraged $3.0 million in DC Low Income Housing Tax Credit equity for the construction of 950 Eastern Ave in Ward 7โs Burrville neighborhood.
CHFA Closes First Loan Under New Affordable Homeownership Program
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) announced today the closing of a $5.7 million construction loan to support Osina Developmentโs Wolff Street Flats, a new, affordable for-sale housing development in Denverโs West Colfax neighborhood. Upon completion, the development will offer 23 affordable condominium homes to qualified homebuyers.
Homeowner Assistance Fund Program Accepting Final Applications Until June 15
Homeowners who have struggled to make mortgage payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic may still be eligible for assistance, but June 15 is the last chance to apply. Because program funds are running low, Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) will close the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) program to new applications at 8 a.m. on June 15.

House Passes FY27 USDA Appropriations Bill
On June 4, the House of Representatives narrowly passed H.R. 8646, the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027 in a 213 โ 210 vote, with nearly all Democrats and five Republicans voting against the funding measure. The bill would provide $22.5 billion in discretionary funding for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in fiscal year 2027, which would be $675 million or nearly three percent less than enacted funding levels in fiscal year 2026 but nearly $2 billion more than requested by the Trump Administration in April.
