MaineHousing Provides $71.5 Million in Funding to Build Affordable Housing

MaineHousing is announcing the allocation of Maine Affordable Housing Tax Credits and federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to build or renovate seven affordable housing developments across Maine. The combined $8.2 million in tax credits will generate over $44.1 million in equity from private investors.

MassHousing Awards $627,350 for Affordable Sober Housing to Support Men, Women, Families and Senior Citizens in Eight Communities

MassHousing has awarded a total of $627,350 in grant funding to create 46 new affordable sober housing units and preserve and additional 35 sober homes for men, women, families and senior citizens in eight communities. The grants come from the Center for Community Recovery Innovations, Inc. (CCRI), a nonprofit subsidiary corporation of MassHousing that helps nonprofits create or preserve affordable sober housing in Massachusetts for individuals in recovery.Ā Ā 

Governor Hochul Announces $145 Million Awarded to 21 Developments Across New York to Provide Nearly 1,200 Affordable Homes

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced more than $145 million has been awarded to create or preserve 1,178 affordable homes in 21 separate developments across New York. The funding announced today will further pandemic recovery efforts, fight homelessness, help close the digital divide for lower income households, and expand access to safe and sustainable affordable housing opportunities that advance the state's clean energy goals.Ā 

Hogan Administration Announces More Than $7 Million in Community Development Block Grant Awards

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Secretary Kenneth C. Holt today announced that $7 million will be awarded through the Community Development Block Grant program. The funding will support 17 projects in 11 counties, including improvements to infrastructure and community facilities and programs serving seniors, persons with disabilities and low- to moderate-income individuals.

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Issues First Social Bonds in Agencyā€™s History

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Secretary Kenneth C. Holt announced the issuance of the first ever ā€˜Social Bondsā€™ to be sold by the department. The departmentā€™s bond-issuing entity, the Community Development Administration, issued over $251.7 million in Residential Revenue Bonds, the first to be designated as Social Bonds in agency history.

RIHousing Announces Second Round of Funds to Bridge the Digital Divide

RIHousing today announced the availability of a second round of ā€œBridging the Digital Divideā€ funds to support innovative and long-term sustainable projects to increase internet access for low- and moderate-income households across the state. The program provides financial resources to eligible organizations and municipalities in support of initiatives to expand and support free or low-cost internet access.

Governor Hogan Announces Nearly $63 Million for State Revitalization Program Awards

Governor Larry Hogan today announced new awardees for six state revitalization programs administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Nearly $63 million was awarded to 214 projects and activities that promote community development and economic growth. All 23 counties and Baltimore City received awards through one or more of the six programs.

MassHousing Closes on $28.8 Million for the Refinancing and Extension of Affordability at the 145-Unit Council Tower for Senior Citizens in Roxbury

MassHousing has closed on $28.8 million in affordable housing financing to Council of Elders Housing Corporation for the refinancing and extension of affordability at the 145-unit Council Tower in Roxbury.ā€ÆĀ As a result of the transaction, the Council Tower property, which houses lower-income senior citizens, will have affordability protections extended for 29 years. In addition to extending affordability, the 17-story housing community in Roxbury will undergo approximately $2 million in property improvements.
