Thomas Bryan Selected as CHFAโs Chief Financial Officer
CHFA is pleased to announce Thomas Bryan has been selected to serve as CHFAโs Chief Financial Officer effective May 6, 2019. Bryan has served as CHFAโs controller/director of accounting since 2014. โI am extremely honored to serve as CHFAโs next CFO. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than helping CHFA achieve its mission and vision, and I look forward to continuing CHFAโs work on addressing the issues of housing affordability and economic development across Colorado."
WHEDA Awards $32 Million statewide in Federal and State Housing Tax Credits
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers today announced the award of $24,760,812 in Federal Housing Tax Credits and $7,369,167 in State Housing Tax Credits to fund housing developments across Wisconsin. The tax credits, which are distributed by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), will move forward 35 developments that will create 2,308 units of rental housing.
PHFA Recognizes its Top Lending Partners
The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency recently honored its top lending partners for 2018 during its annual homeownership awards event at its headquarters. Homebuyers across Pennsylvania work with these lending partners for the application, processing, and closing of affordable PHFA home loans. Pennsylvania Executive Deputy Secretary of Banking and Securities Brian LaForme was a special guest and helped honor the top lenders.
DCHFA Closes March by Financing 121 New Apartments in Anacostia
On March 29th ย the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) issued $23 million in bond financing for the construction ofย Stanton Square Apartments, 121 new apartment homes in ย Anacostia (Ward 8). โAs Anacostia experiences renewed development and is attracting new businesses, the cost of housing is rising. At this time it is imperative that affordable rental housing is included in the revitalization of the neighborhood. ย

Money Smart Weekยฎ is March 30 through April 6 and promotes free financial education events offered statewide for Colorado consumers. Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is sponsoring several homebuyer education classes during Money Smart Week offered by members of CHFAโs homebuyer education partner network. Classes and events are available at no charge and are open to the public.

the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) will host its annual Achievement Awards Dinner. Recipients this year of Annual Achievement Awards include Todd A. Lee, Executive Director & CEO District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (Government Sector Award), The Team of the Entertainment and Sports Arena at St. Elizabeths East (Community Impact Award), and Brookfield Properties (Developer of the Year).
Louisiana Housing Corporation Hosts Stateโs First All-Inclusive Housing Conference
The Louisiana Housing Corporation will host the stateโs first all-inclusive housing conference, Connections, on April 2-4, 2019, at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Baton Rouge. The event will bring together more than 400 housing professionals for a unique opportunity to connect with housing experts and advocates from across the state to discuss pressing housing issues.
RIHousing Recognizes Top-Performing Partners
RIHousing honored its top-producing lender and realtor partners at its annual Spring Homebuying Breakfast hosted for 350 industry members. Working with 41 lender partners and hundreds of realtors throughout Rhode Island, the corporation helped over 2,100 Rhode Islanders purchase a home in 2018. Awards were presented to HarborOne Mortgage as the agencyโs Participating Lender of the Year. In 2018, HarborOne Mortgage funded more than $55 million in mortgage loans for 291 homes through RIHousingโs homeownership programs.
WHEDA allocates $554,974 in federal housing tax credits to St. Anthony Apartments in Milwaukee
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has allocated $554,974 in affordable federal housing tax credits to help finance the St. Anthony Apartments near downtown Milwaukee. A grand opening ceremony was held today at the new development. The adaptive re-use development has transformed a vacant five-story building that historically was St. Anthonyโs Hospital, and more recently the Milwaukee County Correctional Center, into 60, one-bedroom and efficiency units of high-quality housing with onsite supportive services.
