DCHFA Closes March by Financing 121 New Apartments in Anacostia

On March 29th ย the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) issued $23 million in bond financing for the construction ofย  Stanton Square Apartments, 121 new apartment homes in ย Anacostia (Ward 8). โ€œAs Anacostia experiences renewed development and is attracting new businesses, the cost of housing is rising. At this time it is imperative that affordable rental housing is included in the revitalization of the neighborhood. ย 

Get โ€œMoney Smartโ€ with Homebuyer Education

Money Smart Weekยฎ is March 30 through April 6 and promotes free financial education events offered statewide for Colorado consumers. Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is sponsoring several homebuyer education classes during Money Smart Week offered by members of CHFAโ€™s homebuyer education partner network. Classes and events are available at no charge and are open to the public.

the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) will host its annual Achievement Awards Dinner. Recipients this year of Annual Achievement Awards include Todd A. Louisiana Housing Corporation Hosts Stateโ€™s First All-Inclusive Housing Conference

The Louisiana Housing Corporation will host the stateโ€™s first all-inclusive housing conference, Connections, on April 2-4, 2019, at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Baton Rouge. The event will bring together more than 400 housing professionals for a unique opportunity to connect with housing experts and advocates from across the state to discuss pressing housing issues.

RIHousing Recognizes Top-Performing Partners

RIHousing honored its top-producing lender and realtor partners at its annual Spring Homebuying Breakfast hosted for 350 industry members. Working with 41 lender partners and hundreds of realtors throughout Rhode Island, the corporation helped over 2,100 Rhode Islanders purchase a home in 2018. Awards were presented to HarborOne Mortgage as the agencyโ€™s Participating Lender of the Year. In 2018, HarborOne Mortgage funded more than $55 million in mortgage loans for 291 homes through RIHousingโ€™s homeownership programs.

WHEDA allocates $554,974 in federal housing tax credits to St. Anthony Apartments in Milwaukee

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has allocated $554,974 in affordable federal housing tax credits to help finance the St. Anthony Apartments near downtown Milwaukee. A grand opening ceremony was held today at the new development. The adaptive re-use development has transformed a vacant five-story building that historically was St. Anthonyโ€™s Hospital, and more recently the Milwaukee County Correctional Center, into 60, one-bedroom and efficiency units of high-quality housing with onsite supportive services.

DCHFA Launches Reverse Mortgage Insurance & Tax Payment Program to Aid District Homeowners

As more Washington, D.C. residents fall behind on taxes and insurance costs associated with their reverse mortgage loans, theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) launches the $500,000 Reverse Mortgage Insurance & Tax Payment Program (ReMIT). The program will provide financial assistance to qualified District homeowners for delinquent property taxes, homeownerโ€™s insurance, and qualifying property related expenses that put the homeowner at risk of foreclosure.

PHFA Launches Three Informational Podcast Series for Consumers

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency today announced it has launched three new informational podcasts intended to help consumers. One, called โ€œClose to Home,โ€ will offer practical, easy-to-understand advice for people in the market to purchase a home. The second, โ€œMaster Your Money,โ€ will provide insights people can use to better manage their personal finances. The third series, called โ€œPHFA Update,โ€ will cover a variety of housing topics to benefit homebuyers, homeowners and renters.

Two Affordable Housing Communities in Orange Will Undergo Extensive Renovations with $11.6 Million in MassHousing Financing

MassHousing has provided a total of $11.6 million in affordable housing financing to the non-profit Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF), for the renovation and preservation of two adjacent affordable housing communities in Orange. As part of the transaction, RHF will combine the 120-unit King James Court property, which serves elderly and disabled residents, and the 114-unit Pine Crest apartments, which serves low-income families, into a single new entity called King Pine.
