BURLINGTON—Each year approximately 3,000 more Vermonters pay too much for their housing and become "cost burdened," according to the 2010 edition of "Between a Rock and a Hard Place," the annual report tracking housing costs and wages.

The report, written and researched by Vermont Housing Finance Agency, will be released at a press event on TUESDAY, JUNE 15, at Brookside Village, Morehouse Road, off Mallett's Bay Avenue, Colchester, at 10:30 a.m.

The report notes much of the drop in home prices was off-set by higher: fees, down payment requirements and rates for moderate credit scores. Also: Rental prices have held steady in spite of increasing vacancies.

Advance copies of the report are available in PDF format. The reports are EMBARGOED UNTIL 10:30 a.m. JUNE 15. Contact Maura or Craig to request a copy.
