Missouri Housing Development Commission’s Board of Commissioners has approved Margaret Lineberry to serve as executive director of the agency, effective August 20, 2010.

As executive director, Lineberry is responsible for the oversight of MHDC, which provides financing for the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing in Missouri, as well as the administration of low-interest mortgage loan programs available for use by first-time homebuyers.

The MHDC Board includes the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state treasurer, and six persons appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the state senate. Lineberry will report directly to the Board.

Prior to taking this position, Lineberry practiced law with both Lineberry Law Firm and Shook, Hardy & Bacon (where she served as Chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Section), in addition to serving as in-house counsel to the former Butler Manufacturing Company.

Lineberry’s thirty-year career as an attorney has focused on housing, real estate development, construction, architecture/engineering and project finance. She is both a published author as well as an accomplished public speaker.

“I am pleased and honored to be appointed to this position of responsibility with MHDC, which has been consistently recognized by its peers as being one of the premiere housing finance agencies in the U.S,” said Lineberry.
