A new program established to provide financial relief to small rental property owners who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

โ€ข Up to 80 percent of AMI in accordance with HUDโ€™s MTSP income limits.
โ€ข Must be the primary property owner of a residential rental property with three to ten total housing units for Round 1 and three to thirty for Round 2, and must not include seasonal or vacation rentals.
โ€ข Owners must forgive outstanding back rent and late fees for the units the assistance covers for the duration of the assistance.

Administration StructureNJHMFA call center assists with the application and eligibility questions. Once the application is submitted, communication is conducted through email with individual reviewers. Award communication occurs through email and phone, as needed.
