A new program established to provide financial relief for renters who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 100 percent of AMI.
โ€ข Must provide documentation showing COVID-19-related adverse impact on income.
โ€ข Must be 18 years or older.
โ€ข Must not be receiving federal or state rent subsidies.
โ€ข Lease agreements must not be between immediate family members.

Administration StructureHawaii HFDC administers this program in partnership with non-profits including Aloha United Way and Catholic Charities Hawaii.
Maximum Length of Assistance

Up to 4 months

Maximum Assistance Available Per Household

โ€ข Up to $2,000 a month for households residing in the City and County of Honolulu.
โ€ข $1,500 a month for households residing in the Counties of Hawaii, Maui or Kauai.
