A new program established to provide financial relief for renters who experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and have experienced homelessness .

Eligibility Criteria

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 50 percent of AMI with priority given to households with income at or below 30 percent of AMI.
โ€ข Households are to be identified through the CoCโ€™s centralized intake process with priority given to individuals at greater risk of contracting COVID-19, e.g., seniors aged 60 and older and individuals with underlying health conditions.

  • Move-in Fees (including security deposit, background checks, etc.)

โ€ข Housing case management
โ€ข On a limited basis, funds may be used for hotel or motel stays for high-risk individuals, including seniors over the age of 60, pregnant women, and persons with underlying health conditions.

Administration StructureThis program is administered through Ohioโ€™s Continua of Care (CoC) and includes the eight large Continua and the Balance of State Continuum of Care.
Maximum Length of Assistance

โ€ข Maximum hotel/motel occupancy for high-risk individuals is no more than 30 days.
โ€ข Rental assistance is up to 6 months

Maximum Assistance Available Per Household

Maximum assistance is no more than 120 percent of the FMR for the CoC service area unless waived by the OHFA.
