Program Description

A new program established to provide financial relief for renters who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

โ€ข Households experiencing job lay off, business closure, reduced hours of work, having to stay home to care for children, or other loss of income due to COVID-19.
โ€ข Must be within income limits as specified for each county.
โ€ข Must not be able to pay rent from income, savings, or other liquid assets.
โ€ข Must not be a recipient of federal rental assistance such as Section 8, or live in housing financed by MaineHousing, a federal agency, or the Housing Credit.
โ€ข May be used by owners of mobile homes for lot rent payments.
โ€ข Landlord must complete required paperwork to receive funds.
