A new pilot program in 19 counties established to provide financial relief for renters who have experienced a loss of income and are in eviction proceedings due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will be expanded statewide in January 2021.

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 200 percent of the Federal poverty level.
โ€ข Must have experienced a loss of income or increased household costs due to school closures or medical expenses attributed to COVID-19.
โ€ข Must be past due on rent and is at imminent risk of eviction due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
โ€ข Must be in eviction court proceedings and have full cooperation from the landlord.
โ€ข Must not be a recipient of any other rental assistance program for the same months of emergency assistance.
โ€ข The landlord must forgive outstanding late fees and penalties, and cannot pass court costs to the tenant.
โ€ข Rent cannot exceed 150 percent of Fair Market Rent (FMR).

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 120 percent of AMI.
โ€ข Must provide documentation showing their inability to make monthly payments.
โ€ข Liquid resources (i.e., combined checking and/or savings account) must not exceed $3,000. Other assets that are not readily available as cash are not considered when determining eligibility.

A new program established to provide financial relief for homeowners who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 120 percent of AMI prior to March 1, 2020.
โ€ข An adult member of household had a loss of income due to COVID-19 on or after March 1, 2020.
โ€ข Must reside in a property consisting of no more than two units, whose mortgage was current as of February 29, 2020, and the balance for which does not exceed $425,000.
โ€ข Must be for a first lien mortgage on a primary residence.
โ€ข The home mortgage lender must be willing to accept payments on mortgages that are delinquent or in active forbearance beginning on or after March 1, 2020.

A new program established to provide financial relief for renters and homeowners who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

โ€ข Household income must be at or below 115 percent of AMI.
โ€ข Must be at risk of losing their housing or demonstrate that the COVID pandemic has had an adverse impact on their employment, income, or monthly expenses (i.e., medical).
โ€ข Must be unable to pay their rental, mortgage, or homeowner/mortgage insurance payments beginning on March 1, 2020, or demonstrate their inability to make payments going forward.
โ€ข Must be legally authorized to be in the United States.
โ€ข Participants of any other mortgage assistance or forbearance program are not eligible until the expiration of the assistance or forbearance period.

โ€ข Eligible properties are those financed with HFA, or other federal or local affordable housing funds
โ€ข No limit on household income for participation but must have occupied the unit since March 1, 2020
โ€ข Units with $2,500 maximum rent.
โ€ข Landlord/owner must forgive outstanding back rent not covered by the grant from April 1 through November 30, 2020.
