New Financing to Create 820 Affordable Apartments Statewide, Plus Senior and Community Facilities

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has approved financing that will build 820 new affordable apartments for people at low incomes and those experiencing homelessness throughout Washington state. The financing approved in August and September will also expand nonprofit senior living facilities and help finance the new Kent YMCA.

NJHMFA Joins Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Marking Opening of Affordable Apartments in Plainsboro

New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) executive staff joined representatives of Community Investment Strategies, Inc., and local officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of The Place at Plainsboro, which includes 70 apartments affordable to families. The development, at 100 Rue Place, consists of nine two-story buildings providing one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for residents earning between 50% and 60% of the area median income.

LHC Awards $129 Million to Expand Affordable Housing Across Louisiana

Today, the Louisiana Housing Corporation announced the award recipients of the 2019 Housing Tax Credit program, which funds the acquisition, construction, and rehabilitation of affordable housing throughout Louisiana. Over $129 million in 10-year federal housing tax credits were awarded to 20 developments that will create 877 apartments serving families, seniors and individuals with disabilities.

CHFA Announces 2019 Round Two Low Income Housing Tax Credit Awards

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is pleased to announce the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) awards for the second and final award round of 2019. CHFA is the allocating agency of federal LIHTC in Colorado. In this round, 30 applications requesting $34.9 million in federal 9 percent LIHTC were received. CHFA is awarding $17,111,701 in 9 percent credits to 15 developments, which will support the construction of 723 affordable rental housing units.

NCSHA Releases Updated Model Housing Credit Compliance Forms

Today, NCSHA released revamped model forms for Housing Credit compliance monitoring, developed in collaboration with its members and stakeholders. NCSHAโ€™s Recommended Practices in Housing Credit Administration encourage Housing Credit agencies to adopt model forms, which help standardize compliance monitoring practices across states and create efficiencies for development owners and other Housing Credit industry professionals.
