DCHFA Closes out April by Funding Senior Affordable Housing in Petworth
The DCHFA closed out the month of April with a second deal closure within a week. On April 29 DCHFA issued $7.1million in tax exempt bonds and underwrote $3.7 million in four percent LIHTC equity for the acquisition and rehabilitation of Spring Flats Senior in the Ward 4 neighborhood of Petworth. โAffordable housing for the Districtโs senior residents is critical to allow them to age in place in the city that they have called home for decades. MassHousing Closes on $2.8 Million in Financing for New Workforce Housing in Northampton
MassHousing has closed on $2.8 million in affordable workforce housing financing to The Community Builders for the ongoing construction of the 12-unit 35 Village Hill Road in Northampton. Valley Community Development Corporation is the project co-sponsor. The new housing, which is being developed on the site of the former Northampton State Hospital, will feature 10 workforce housing apartments for moderate-income households and two deeply affordable units for clients of the DMH.
WHEDA Awards $31.9 Million In Federal And State Housing Tax Credits
The award of $31.9 million in federal and state tax credits will advance housing opportunity and economic recovery in Wisconsin through creation of 2,039 affordable housing units in the months ahead, Gov. Tony Evers announced Tuesday. The state and federal housing tax credit awards by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) support housing developments in 23 communities statewide and cap a highly competitive process that drew requests totaling $61 million.
Single-Family Housing Rehab Program Grants Approved
The North Dakota Industrial Commission approved an allocation of almost $200,000 today through Helping Housing Across North Dakota (HAND). The program addresses the housing rehab needs of lower-income individuals and families by providing grants to targeted community programs. North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) administers the program.

Theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) is partnering with SOME (So Other Might Eat) by financing affordable housing in Wards 2 and 4. On April 24th, DCHFA issued $17.3 million in tax exempt bonds and underwrote $10.2 million in low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) equity for the acquisition and rehabilitation of Anna Cooper House in Ward 2 and Building 17 on the campus of the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Ward 4.
