Statewide Homeless Count to be Conducted in January
South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium (SDHHC), an affiliate of South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA), will conduct its annual statewide Point-In-Time (PIT) homeless count. The Point-In-Time homeless count is a critical source of annual data, providing characteristics of people who are experiencing homelessness. Data from the annual PIT homeless count is used to measure homelessness on local, state, and national levels.
Senior Housing Bond Funds Awarded By MaineHousing, Drives Over $45.8 Million for Affordable Housing & Maine’s Economy
MaineHousing has awarded $14.5 million of the senior housing bond approved by voters in 2015 and signed by Governor Janet Mills in 2019. The bond, combined with MaineHousing resources and other funds, will generate over $45.8 million to build 212 new affordable housing units for Mainers aged 55 and older. “These awards are another welcome step forward for older Mainers,” said Governor Janet Mills.
Iowa Finance Authority Launches New Portal to Attract Bond Investors in 2020
The Iowa Finance Authority today launched a new resource portal aimed at attracting more investors to its municipal bond offerings. The new investor relations portal is introduced in advance of two upcoming bond sales scheduled for January and February. The portal offers investors a single location to access detailed information about the bond sales, agency credit fundamentals and the ability to register to receive alerts as financial documents are updated.

2020 PHFA Housing Policy Fellow Named
The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency has named Rachel Fawcett as its inaugural housing policy fellow. Fawcett will receive a financial stipend of up to $12,000 during 2020 to conduct research benefiting the affordable housing industry. In the process, she will gain valuable experience aiding her professional development. “Rachel was chosen from a group of highly qualified applicants,” said PHFA Executive Director and CEO Brian A. Funding Awards will Support the Development of Zero Net Energy Housing for Rhode Islanders
RIHousing and the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) announced today the award of funds to develop highly energy efficient housing for low- and moderate-income Rhode Islanders. The pilot program, Zero Energy for the Ocean State (ZEOS), is the result of a public-private partnership between RIHousing, OER and National Grid to explore innovative, replicable solutions to utilize cost saving, clean energy technologies in homes.
Murphy Administration Awards Over $22M In Federal Tax Credits to Expand Affordable Housing for Families, Seniors, Special Needs Residents
Opening the door to over 1,200 new apartments affordable for families, seniors and residents with special needs, the Murphy Administration announced today it has awarded over $22 million in annual 9% federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). The highly competitive tax credits are expected to generate $214.7 million in private investment to create 17 developments totaling nearly $325 million to help build a stronger New Jersey.
