MSHDA and Lansing Housing Commission Receive Funding to Reduce Youth Homelessness

Today, The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) received $4.5 million in Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Lansing Housing Commission also received $1.9 million in YHDP funding to address local youth homelessness issues.

New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authorityโ€™s Restoring Our Communities Program Helps to Restore Vacant Houses and Provide Affordable Housing Opportunities

The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) launched its Restoring Our Communities (ROC) Program Sept. 1, 2023, to help meet New Mexicoโ€™s need for affordable housing units while assisting communities in reducing vacant and abandoned houses that decrease property values. Homeowners within close proximity to abandoned homes can pay higher insurance premiums as well.

Lt. Gov. Crouch, IHCDA Launch Updated Dashboard to Assist Communities with Housing Inventory

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouchย and theย Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA)ย today announced the launch of the Indiana Housing Dashboard 2.0,ย a database that includes a statewide inventory of housing in Indiana. The first version of the Dashboard was released by IHCDA in December 2021, and efforts begin shortly thereafter to design and implement added features and more robust content.

HUD Delays Compliance Date for NSPIRE Protocols for Community Planning and Development Programs

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced it is delaying until October 1, 2024, the compliance date for its National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) final rule as it applies to Community Planning and Development (CPD) programs. The NSPIRE final rule, published May 11, 2023, initially required compliance for CPD programs to begin October 1, 2023. Programs covered by the delay notice include the HOME Investment Partnerships, Housing Trust Fund, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, Emergency Solution Grants, and Continuum of Care programs.

Delaware State Housing Authority to Begin Issuing Final Federal Homeowner and Homebuyer Funding
