TDHCA Launches Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) announced today the Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund (TXHAF) is now available for qualified homeowners who need help with past due mortgage payments and related expenses due to financial hardships associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible households could receive up to $40,000 for past due mortgage payment assistance, and up to $25,000 to pay past due property taxes, property insurance, and delinquent homeowner association (HOA) and/or condo association fees.

Housing Agency Awarded Grant to Support Counseling Programs

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) has been awarded a $72,840 housing counseling grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The agency will split the grant between two affiliate organizations ā€“ Community Action Opportunities of Minot and Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency of Fargo.

Aid Available for Individuals Struggling to Make Their House Payment

South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA), with funding from the U.S. Treasury, is providing mortgage relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have been financially impacted due to COVID-19 and are in need of assistance with unpaid mortgages, insurance or utilities, the SD Cares Housing Assistance Program may be of assistance. SDHDA, in collaboration with the Helpline Center and other partner agencies, is working to assist South Dakotans fight against housing instability and homelessness.

Pritzker Administration Announces Up to $30,000 in Housing Relief per Eligible Homeowners

ILHAF will provide up to $30,000 in free assistance per homeowner paid directly to the servicer, taxing body or other approved entity on behalf of Illinois homeowners impacted by COVID-19 to prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults and foreclosures to keep families safe and secure while they regain their financial footing. Wendi Redfern-Curtis Joins DCHFA as Senior Vice President of Single Family Programs

TheĀ District of Columbia Housing Finance AgencyĀ (DCHFA) has named a new Senior Vice President of Single Family Programs, Wendi Redfern-Curtis. As Senior Vice President, Mrs. Redfern-Curtis will oversee DCHFAā€™s homeownership assistance programs, to include DC Open Doors, DC4ME, DC MAP COVID-19 and the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP). Mrs. Redfern-Curtis has more than 20 years of experience in transformational community development, affordable housing development, and organizational change management.

Governor Hogan Announces $14.5 Million in Project Restore Awards

Governor Larry Hogan today announced the second round of recipients for Project Restore,Ā a $25 million economic recovery initiativeĀ that provides financial incentives to revitalize vacant retail and commercial space. In this round of awards, 209 businesses will receive $5.2 million in rental subsidies and $9.3 million in business operations grants over the next two years, totaling $14.5 million in support. Overall, more than 350 businesses across every jurisdiction in the state will benefit from the program.

Mortgage Related Pandemic Relief Soon Available From Alaska Housing Finance Corporation

Alaska homeowners impacted by COVID-19 will soon have access to apply for mortgage and related assistance through Alaska Housing Finance Corporationā€™s Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance. The objective of the congressionally approved program is to reduce mortgage delinquencies, forbearances and foreclosures, as well as prevent loss of utilities or energy services, providing a new layer of security for Alaskans facing challenges due to the pandemic.

Centreville Bank Steps Up to Provide Banking Access to RentReliefRI Applicants

RIHousing announced today a new partnership with Centreville Bank to assist RentReliefRI applicants who do not have access to a traditional bank account. RentReliefRI is a program that provides rental and utility assistance to help eligible renters maintain housing stability. The partnership provides banking access to applicants who receive direct rental payments but lack an account or an existing relationship with a financial institution.

Agency Recognizes Partners Who Promote Affordable Homeownership

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) recently recognized nine of its partners with Champion of Affordable Housing Awards for their outstanding promotion and delivery of its homeownership programs. ā€œHomeownership is traditionally one of the most coveted goals of individuals and families,ā€ said NDHFA Executive Director Dave Flohr. ā€œThrough our Champion Awards, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency honors the housing professionals who partner with the agency, promote our programs, and help to make homeownership affordable.ā€

WHEDA and CSH Welcome Teams for the Inaugural Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and CSH announced that seven teams will participate in the inaugural 2022 Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute. The teams include diverse professionals from across the state. All groups will create a plan to develop affordable housing with access to supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
