CHFA Awarded Over $500,000 for Housing Counseling

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) has been awarded a $501,942 grant to support housing counseling agencies located throughout Colorado.

Governor Hogan Announces Nearly $32 Million In Affordable Rental Housing Awards

Governor Larry Hogan today announced nearly $32 million in project awards through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Developmentā€™s (DHCD) 2022 application round for federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and state Rental Housing Funds. Funds have been awarded to 12 projects as part of the competitive round. Nine additional noncompetitive awards were made through the Multifamily Bond Program, bringing the total awards to 21.

Shreedhar Ranabhat to Serve as WHEDA Director of Commercial Lending

Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has promoted Shreedhar Ranabhat to serve as director of commercial lending. The commercial lending team focuses on deploying capital and resources to finance multifamily affordable housing and business development projects throughout the State of Wisconsin. Ranabhatā€™s team is responsible for reviewing and allocating housing tax credits and administering the financing cycle, including application processing, underwriting, closing, construction, and loan conversion.

Lt. Gov. Crouch, IHCDA Announce Major Investment in Affordable Housing

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Board of Directors for the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) announced five developments have received awards from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, in conjunction with Multifamily Tax Exempt Bonds. This funding is used to incentivize private developers to fund the acquisition, rehabilitation and construction of affordable housing communities throughout Indiana.

Over $30M in Financial Assistance Distributed to Georgia Homeowners to Date

Congressman David Scott, (GA-13) and Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Christopher Nunn announced the launch of the Georgia Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) in January and nearly $30M has been expended to Georgian homeowners since the programā€™s inception.Ā 

Governor Hochul Announces Groundbreaking of $64 Million Affordable Supportive Housing Development in Rochester

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that construction has begun on Canal Commons, a $64 million development that will convert a 19th century manufacturing facility into 123 affordable and supportive apartments. Located in Rochester's Susan B. Anthony neighborhood, the building will include 70 homes with supportive services.

Iowa Finance Authority Announces 2022 Preferred Homeownership Lenders

The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) today announced that a total of 23 lenders have earned IFAā€™s 2022 Preferred Lender designation. IFA Preferred Lenders serve as ambassadors for Iowa homebuyers seeking assistance with the homeownership process and are trained in IFA mortgage, down payment and closing costs assistance programs.

The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) Board of Directors recently awarded a total of $100,000 in State Housing Trust Fund grants to Habitat for Humanity affiliates to support the construction of homes in Cedar Falls and Hospers. Governor Hochul Announces Completion of $25 Million Affordable Housing Development for Seniors In Kingston

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the grand opening of Landmark Place, a $25 million affordable housing campus in the city of Kingston in Ulster County. The development features 66 new affordable apartments for seniors aged 55 and older, including 35 homes reserved for seniors in need of supportive services to live independently.Ā  Ā 

Mortgage Professionals Named New Hampshire Housing Homeownership Fellows

Eleven Granite State professionals who work with homebuyers have been named 2023 New Hampshire Housing Homeownership Fellows. The program offers an opportunity to explore the mortgage finance system and participate in workshops about housing and public policy, housing and economic development, state government issues, and New Hampshire Housingā€™s homeownership programs.
