California Housing Finance Agency Welcomes New Director of Multifamily Programs Kate Ferguson

The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) is pleased to welcome Kate Ferguson as its new Director of Multifamily Programs following her appointment by the CalHFA Board of Directors. Ferguson has more than 30 years of experience in the multifamily lending world, most recently with BBVA Compassโ€™ Affordable Housing division in Denver.

NJHMFA Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for Supportive Housing in Somerset County

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening this week of the New Amwell Group Home, which will provide homes for four residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in the community and helps fulfill the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agencyโ€™s (NJHMFA) mission to provide stable, affordable supportive housing.

Groundbreaking Kicks Off Start of Affordable Apartments for Families in Union County

The Station at Grant Avenue, which will provide apartments affordable to families and is part of an effort to bring significant new development to Plainfield, broke ground Wednesday for a $29.3 million project financed in part by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) and Superstorm Sandy recovery funding.

MassHousing Closes on $35.8 Million in Financing for the Redevelopment of the Former Worcester County Courthouse in Downtown Worcester into a 117-Unit Affordable Housing Community

MassHousing has closed on $35.8 million in affordable housing financing to Trinity Financial, for the redevelopment of the former Worcester County Courthouse in downtown Worcester. The MassHousing financing will allow Trinity Financial to redevelop the former courthouse into 117 apartments for households across a wide range of incomes, including 45 workforce housing units.

CHFA Invests $1 Billion in Homeownership

With homeownership season ready to heat up, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) today announced that it has reached a $1 billion milestone in its affordable homeownership programs this year. CHFAโ€™s year-to-date investment translates to 3,742 Colorado households achieving homeownership. Additionally, more than $47 million in down payment assistance has been provided through CHFAโ€™s programs, and more than 4,700 households have enrolled in a CHFA-sponsored homebuyer education class so far in 2019.

Groundbreaking to Bring New, Affordable Apartments for Families, Veterans to Mount Laurel

At the location of a landmark court ruling on affordable housing, a groundbreaking today in Mount Laurel marked the start of a 103-apartment complex affordable to families and veterans. The event was attended by New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) Executive Director Charles A. Richman, local officials, and developer Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.

Housing Agency Recognizes Partners With Champion Awards

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency recognized a dozen of its outstanding partners as Champions of Affordable Housing at the Statewide Housing Conference. โ€œThe Champion Awards recognize and celebrate the work of individuals, non-profit organizations, public agencies, and private sector businesses who go above and beyond to provide affordable housing for the people of North Dakota,โ€ said Jolene Kline, NDHFA executive director.

PHFA Accepting Bids for Purchase of Mixed-Use Development Tax Credits

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency announced today that it is accepting bids for the purchase of $2 million in mixed-use development tax credits. The funds collected from successful bidders will be used for the construction or rehabilitation of mixed-use developments in Pennsylvania communities. The deadline for bids is 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14.

Groundbreaking Marks Start of Affordable Apartment Community at Former Camp Kilmer Site Funded In Part by NJHMFA

A groundbreaking on Wednesday kicked off Truman Square, the first of a two-phase community of 172 affordable apartments for families, which is funded in part by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) and will also provide homes for veterans and formerly homeless residents at the former Camp Kilmer site in Edison.

MassHousing Honors its Top-Producing Partner Lenders in 2018 for Their Commitment to Affordable Homeownership in Massachusetts

MassHousing recently honored 11 of its top lending partners for their success in originating MassHousing home mortgage loans for low- and moderate-income Massachusetts residents in 2018. In 2018, through all its partner lenders, MassHousing provided a total of $730.7 million in mortgage financing to 2,904 Massachusetts residents who purchased or refinanced a home.
