RIHousing Provides Funding to Bridge the Digital Divide

RIHousing today announced a second round of funding awards as part of the agencyโ€™s โ€œBridging the Digital Divideโ€ (Digital Divide) program, which provides financial resources to support projects to increase internet access for low- and moderate-income households across the state. The program provides financial resources to eligible organizations and municipalities in support of initiatives to expand and support internet access and digital literacy.ย 

CHFA Announces 2022 Round One Housing Tax Credit Awards

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is pleased to announce 12 developments were awarded a reservation of federal 9 percent Housing Tax Credits to support the new construction of 592 affordable apartments. These developments will serve various housing needs in Colorado including supporting individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness, older adults, veterans, and households with low and moderate incomes.

MassHousing Closes on $15.2 Million for the Refinancing and Extension of Affordability at the 104-Unit Bridle Path Apartments in Randolph

MassHousing has closed on $15.2 million in affordable housing financing to Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) to refinance the 104-unit Bridle Path Apartments in Randolph and extend the affordability for senior citizens living at the property for at least 32 years.โ€ฏโ€ฏย 

MassHousing Provides $205 Million in Financing to Refinance and Preserve Affordability at 10 Rental Housing Communities With More Than 900 Apartments For Lower-Income Senior Citizens and Families

MassHousing has closed on a $205 million package of affordable housing financing to Providence Realty Investment, LLC, for the refinancing and preservation of affordability at 10 Massachusetts housing communities. The financing package extends affordability protections on 931 total apartment homes for lower-income senior citizens and families.

Homeless Point Data Released for 2022

On January 25, 2022, 4,411 individuals were experiencing homelessness in Maine that particular day as identified in Maineโ€™s annual Point in Time Survey. This number, which provides a one-day snapshot of Maineโ€™s homeless population, suggests a sharp increase from 2021, but also reflects people being served by federally funded pandemic rent relief programs who were living in motels and hotels, a population not counted before because these programs didnโ€™t previously exist.

State Designates $62 Million for Affordable Housing Development

Governor Kelly capped off the legislative session by signing two major bipartisan housing bills into law, representing a significant expansion of resources to support statewide housing development. The measures represent a combined $62 million in new housing resources, as well as initiatives to incentivize housing development.

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Announces Fiscal Year 2023 Application Round for State Revitalization Programs

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development today announced the Fiscal Year 2023 application round for six State Revitalization Programs will open on May 19, 2022. These programs offer funding to support local housing, community and economic development and other revitalization projects. They are part of the departmentโ€™s commitment to helping the stateโ€™s local governments and nonprofit agencies achieve their community revitalization and economic development goals.

Three Housing Leaders Honored During PHFAโ€™s Housing Forum

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency today recognized three affordable housing leaders during its Housing Forum conference at the Hilton Harrisburg. Honored with the agencyโ€™s prestigious Housing Pioneer Award were: Jane Downing, senior program officer, economic and community development, The Pittsburgh Foundation, Pittsburgh, Ira Goldstein, president of policy solutions, Reinvestment Fund, Philadelphia, and SEDA-COG Housing Development Corporation, Lewisburg, Union County.

MassHousing Provides $41.2 Million in Financing for New, 150-Unit Mixed-Income Housing Community for Families and Students in Sunderland

MassHousing has closed on $41.2 in affordable housing financing to Landmark Properties, Inc., for the newly constructed, 150-unit, North 116 Flats in Sunderland. Located three miles north of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and adjacent to a bus line that runs into downtown Amherst and UMass Amherst, North 116 Flats was developed under the stateโ€™s comprehensive permit law, Chapter 40B. North 116 Flats offers 38 family apartments affordable to households earning at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Continuum of Care Accepting RFPs for Youth Homelessness Assistance

North Dakotaโ€™s Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC) is accepting Request for Proposals for the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP). โ€œUnderstanding the depth of youth homelessness is challenging in a rural state,โ€ said Dave Flohr, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) executive director. "Through the YHDP, we are committed to ending youth homelessness in North Dakota.โ€
