The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority to Host Making Homeownership Possible Seminar in Danbury

(ROCKY HILL, Conn.) – April 2, 2026 – For many families, the dream of owning a home can feel out of reach. The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) is working to expand access to homeownership.
Building on the momentum of a successful Windham seminar, CHFA is continuing its statewide series of virtual and in-person seminars aimed at empowering residents with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve homeownership. The next free “Making Homeownership Possible” seminar will be held in Danbury, offering community members the opportunity to discover that owning a home may be more within reach.
This informative session is open to anyone curious about homeownership, especially those who may have assumed it wasn’t an option. Attendees will learn about affordable mortgage programs, down payment assistance opportunities, and the practical steps needed to prepare for purchasing a home. A unique component of this Danbury seminar is the participation of the Housing Development Fund, Inc. (HDF), a local certified nonprofit counseling and lending agency. An HDF expert will guide participants through additional down payment assistance programs that can be layered with CHFA programs, helping to maximize purchasing power and make homeownership more attainable.
“Our recent homebuyer seminar in Windham was a tremendous success, and we’re excited to build on that momentum in Danbury,” said Nandini Natarajan, CEO and Executive Director of CHFA. “As we continue connecting Connecticut residents with the resources and opportunities they need to achieve homeownership, events like this play a critical role in turning that goal into reality.”
Participants will receive guidance on:
- CHFA mortgage options with competitive interest rates
- Down payment and closing cost assistance programs
- What to expect during the homebuying process
- HUD- approved housing counseling agencies and resources available
CHFA programs are specifically designed to reduce financial barriers and open doors for first-time homebuyers and families across Connecticut.
This session is geared toward residents who are exploring whether homeownership is possible for them. The seminar will take place at the Danbury Public Library located at 170 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810 on April 15th, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
