SDHDA Awards $9.2 Million for Affordable Housing in South Dakota

South Dakotans will be seeing additional housing development and preservation across the state. South Dakota Housing Development Authorityโ€™s (SDHDA) Board of Commissioners approved the award of more than $9.2 million in funding for housing activities. The developments will receive $2.7 million in Housing Tax Credits, $2.9 million in HOME Investment Partnership Program funds, $1.5 million in Housing Opportunity Funds and $2.1 million in Housing Trust Funds.

MassHousing Commits $7.9 Million in Financing for New, 51-Unit Mixed-Income Rental Housing Community in Revere

MassHousing has committed $7.9 million in affordable housing financing to the non-profit The Neighborhood Developers (TND) for the construction of the 571 Revere Street in Revere. The MassHousing financing will allow The Neighborhood Developers to construct 51 units of new affordable housing for households across a broad range of incomes, including 19 new workforce housing units.

MassHousing Closes on Financing for New, 14-Unit Workforce Housing Community on a Vacant Parcel in Dorchester

MassHousing has provided a total of $4.1 million in affordable housing financing to TLee Development LLC, for the construction of 14 new energy-efficient apartments on a vacant parcel at 191 Talbot Avenue, in Dorchester. All 14 of the new apartments will be deed-restricted workforce housing units affordable to moderate-income households.

Like It Forward: CHFA Donates $12,695 to La Puente

The donation was the result of Like It Forward, CHFAโ€™s annual Corporate Giving social media campaign. Over the course of three weeks, CHFA invited the public to visit CHFAโ€™s social media channels to like and share posts featuring information and stories about La Puenteโ€™s impact in Alamosa and the San Luis Valley. For each like and share the posts received, CHFA donated $5 to La Puente.

Vermont Housing Finance Agency Completes Successful Sale of State Tax Credits

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) worked with local financial institutions to fund affordable homes that will be sold to low- and moderate-income Vermonters. Passumpsic Bank, Mascoma Bank, Union Mutual Insurance, Community National Bank, and Union Bank invested in Vermont Affordable Housing Tax Credits available through VHFA.

Fiscal Year 2020 Maryland Housing Counseling Fund Awards Announced

These awards will support 40 nonprofit and local government organizations that provide housing counseling services including homebuyer education, pre-purchase counseling and financial capability coaching; as well as, counseling and legal assistance to avoid foreclosure. Funds may also be used by these organizations to increase operational capacity to serve more clients.

MaineHousing Invests $6.78 Million, Generating $40 Million in Funds to Build Affordable Housing

MaineHousing has awarded $3.78 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to five affordable housing projects in Maine. The tax credits will generate over $37 million in equity from private investors. Combined with an additional $3 million in subsidy from MaineHousing, more than $40 million of funding will create or preserve 317 housing units. Of those units, 275 will serve households at or below 60% of the area median income.

MassHousing Awards $622,095 for Affordable Sober Housing to Support Men, Women and Veterans in Recovery

MassHousing has awarded a total of $622,095 in grant funding to help create or modernize 152 affordable sober housing units in 11 communities across Massachusetts. The awarded projects will serve veterans, and men and women in recovery, including women with children. The grants come from the Center for Community Recovery Innovations, Inc. (CCRI), a nonprofit subsidiary corporation of MassHousing that helps nonprofits create or preserve affordable sober housing in Massachusetts for individuals in recovery.

WHEDAโ€™s David Rouse Earns Lifetime Achievement Award From Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association

David Rouse, Director of Single Family Housing for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), has been honored with the lifetime achievement award from the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association. The award, presented at the mortgage bankersโ€™ recent Best in Business banquet, recognizes Rouseโ€™s achievements in a career featuring leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.
