Oregon Housing and Community Services Funds the Creation and Preservation of More Than 4,800 Affordable Homes in 2025
Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) furthers housing progress this year by funding the creation or preservation of 4,806 affordable rental homes across Oregon. It’s a 50% increase from the 3,208 affordable homes funded in 2024. This growth is significant as the housing industry continues to experience supply chain delays and rising costs.
MassHousing Announces $10 Million in CommonWealth Builder Funding to Create New Homeownership Opportunities for Moderate-Income, First-Time Homebuyers in Barnstable
MassHousing has provided $10 million in CommonWealth Builder financing to the non-profit Housing Assistance of Cape Cod for the development of Cornerstone Homes in Hyannis, which will deliver 46 new condominium units for purchase by moderate-income, first-time homebuyers and four units that will be used for rental housing.
Georgia Designates Seven New Communities as Rural Zones
The cities of Alma, Barnesville, Blairsville, Elberton, Folkston, Grantville, and Summerville will be designated as Georgia’s newest Rural Zones on January 1, 2026. This new designation establishes a host of incentives to benefit commerce in each city through December 31, 2030.
An Innovative Approach Pairs Tax Credits and Manufactured Homes
Nearly 50 affordable manufactured homes, known collectively as Dorsey Homes, are filling vacant lots around Petersburg’s Delectable Heights neighborhood. The development marks the first time Virginia Housing has supported the development of manufactured housing by allocating Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to be used to finance construction.
