Murphy-Oliver Administration Announces New Program for Struggling Homeowners
Governor Philip D. Murphy and Lt. Governor Sheila Y. Oliver today announced the upcoming launch of the Emergency Rescue Mortgage Assistance Program (ERMA), administered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA). This program will provide up to $35,000 in assistance to cover mortgage arrearages, delinquent property taxes, and other housing cost delinquencies for eligible homeowners negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
MassHousing Closes on $13.2 Million for the Refinancing, Renovation and Extension of Affordability of the 84-Unit Roslindale House for Senior Citizens in Boston
MassHousing has closed on $13.2 million in affordable housing financing to Roslindale Senior Housing Corporation, an affiliate of Rogerson Communities, for the refinancing, renovation and extension of affordability for at least 26 years for senior citizens living at the 84-unit Roslindale House in Boston.
Homeless Continuum of Care to Conduct Point-in-Time Count
On Jan. 26, 2022, the North Dakota Homeless Continuum of Care (ND CoC) will conduct a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of the people in the state who are experiencing homelessness. “The data gathered during the homeless continuum of care’s PIT count is used to identify strengths and service gaps, increase public awareness, measure progress, and assist local entities with system planning and responses,” said Dave Flohr, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) executive director.
Hogan Administration Announces the First Catalytic Revitalization Tax Credit Award
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development announced the first recipient of the State of Maryland’s Catalytic Revitalization Tax Credit, designed to rehabilitate formerly government-owned properties for economic and community development purposes. The Warfield Companies received a $15 million state tax credit for their ongoing project to redevelop a historic mental health facility and surrounding area in Sykesville into a mixed-use community.
Statewide Homeless Count to Be Conducted
The Point-In-Time homeless count is an important source of annual data, providing characteristics of people who are experiencing homelessness. Data from the annual PIT homeless count is used to measure homelessness on local, state, and national levels.
Governor Hogan Announces Enhanced Benefits for Utility and Electric Assistance to Address Rise in Heating Costs
Governor Larry Hogan today announced that, to address the rise in heating costs, recipients of the state’s utility and electric assistance will receive enhanced benefits during this home heating season. The state is also increasing funding for weatherization assistance programs to improve energy conservation.
Ken Pulido Joins VHFA as Director of Energy Finance
Executive Director Maura Collins announced that VHFA has selected Ken Pulido (he/him) of South Burlington in the newly created role of Director of Energy Finance. Pulido has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Irvine and an MBA from Stanford University.

Landlord Incentive Program Continues in 2022
Today MaineHousing is announcing it will make up to $750,000 in funding from the state Housing Opportunity for Maine (HOME) Fund available to continue its partnership with the state’s public housing authorities for its statewide Landlord Participation Incentive Program.
