CHFA Appoints Board of Directors Officers
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of officers to its Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 term. CHFAโs 11-member board serves as the governing body of the organization and establishes policies to further its mission of affordable housing and community development. CHFA has appointed Amber Hills as its board chair for a second term. CHFA also welcomes Nathan Peterson as its board chair pro tem, and Rick Garcia as its board secretary and treasurer.
State Announces Two Programs for Current or Future California Homeowners
The state of California today announced two programs to help Californians become homeowners or to remain homeowners โ a program to provide forgivable loans to homebuyers for up to ten percent of the purchase price, and the approval of $67 million to fund projects that will support low- and very low-income households so that they can become or remain homeowners.
Governor Hochul Announces $34 Million in Federal Funds to Improve Energy Efficiency for Over 1,000 Homes
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced $34 million in federal funding awards for over 1,000 homes to become more energy efficient and climate friendly. Awarded through the state'sย Weatherizationย Stimulus Program, the funding will support electrification and electrification-ready upgrades that will lower energy costs and improve health outcomes for income-eligible renters and homeowners.
Emergency Rental Assistance Remains Available
Kansas Emergency Rental Assistance (KERA) funding remains available to support Kansans at risk of eviction. KERA provides rent, utility, and internet assistance to households that have experienced a financial hardship during the pandemic. "More than a third of Kansans rent their homes, and many have struggled to cover rent and utility bills since the pandemic began,โ said Ryan Vincent, Executive Director of Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), which administers the KERA program.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced $25 million in funding is now available through the Clean Energy Initiative to create more than 1,500 energy-efficient, climate-friendly affordable homes in existing multifamily buildings across the state. The initiative is part of the Governor's strategy to curb building emissions and achieve two million climate-friendly, electrified, or electrification-ready homes by 2030.ย
