OHFA Board Selects New Executive Director

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) Today, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) Board announced that former State Senator Bill Beagle will start as executive director of OHFA on January 6, 2025. Beagle currently serves as the senior director of policy and program administration for the Ohio Treasurer of State, where he leads policy development, legislative initiatives, and several programs.
โBill Beagle brings a wealth of finance and legislative experience to this role,โ said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. โI know he will help us find innovative solutions to address our stateโs housing challenges, and together, weโll continue to work to make housing safe and affordable for all Ohioans.โ
While at the Ohio Treasurer of State, Beagle was part of the team that developed the Ohio Homebuyer Plus program, which provides above-market interest rates and tax deductions for Ohioans saving for a down payment on a home.

Beagle served eight years in the Ohio Senate representing the 5th District, comprised of Miami and Preble counties and portions of Darke and Montgomery counties. During his time in the Ohio Senate, he chaired the Workforce Development Committee and the Public Utilities Committee; served on the Finance Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and the Health and Medicaid Committee.
In 2002, he started his own apartment rental company after a career in banking and finance. A resident of Tipp City, Ohio (Miami County), Beagle served as president of City Council and was on the Tipp City Library Board and the Tipp City Planning Board. He received his bachelorโs degree in finance from Miami University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University.
