MSHDA Welcomes New Director of External Affairs

Josh Pugh brings demonstrated record of leadership in communications, advocacy work to serve the people of Michigan

Lansing, Mich. – The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) today announced Josh Pugh as its new director of external affairs. Pugh will lead housing policy development, legislative relations, market research, and communications strategy.

“Providing quality affordable housing is at the root of the most serious challenges facing the future of our state,” said MSHDA Executive Director Amy Hovey. “Josh’s passion for our state and his demonstrated record of success in communications and advocacy will allow him to hit the ground running as we work to make housing more attainable and equitable for our neighbors across Michigan.”

Pugh joins MSHDA with over 15 years of experience in communications and advocacy, most recently as senior director of public affairs at Detroit-based communications firm Truscott Rossman, where he led strategy and storytelling efforts for a diverse portfolio of clients. He also serves on the board of Downtown Lansing, Inc., and as vice president for the Lansing Common Football Club, a community nonprofit that also operates a semi-pro soccer team.
