LHC and Partners Cut the Ribbon for the Village Home Apartments

East Hodge, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) celebrated the grand opening of the Village Home Apartments featuring duplex-styled homes at an affordable price for low-income families.
Village Home Apartments has a total of 24 units offering residents two bedroom and three-bedroom units. Three of the units are for applicants who qualify at 30% Area Median Income (AMI), 9 units are for applicants who qualify at 50% AMI, and 12 bedroom-units are for applicants who qualify at 60% AMI.
LHC awarded $423,052 through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). The project is a rehabilitation development. “The LIHTC program helps raise property values and provides economic stability by creating jobs as well as producing affordable housing,” said LHC Interim-Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. “Developing quality and affordable housing does make a difference in communities, and I expect Village Homes Apartment to do just that.”
Village Home Apartments will provide residents with convenient access to Highway 167 and a park within walking distance. “This ribbon-cutting is not merely a celebration of the enhancements we’ve made but a testament to Fairfield Property Management’s vision of cultivating vibrant, sustainable communities,” said Managing Partner of Fairfield Management Edward Taylor. “Our extensive interior and exterior improvements are designed to enrich our residents’ lives, reflecting our belief that the essence of community living is about providing a foundation for dreams to grow and aspirations to be realized. We’re not just renovating properties; we’re elevating lifestyles and fortifying communities.”

ABOUT LHC
The purpose of the LHC is to substantially increase the availability of affordable, accessible, and safe residential housing in Louisiana. The LHC was created in 2011 when the Louisiana Legislature merged the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency with housing programs from other state agencies to streamline how the state would address its housing needs, avoid duplication of efforts, and improve service to the general public. The LHC administers federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families, drives housing policy for Louisiana, and oversees the state’s Disaster Housing Task Force.
