Habitat for Humanity of Henderson Dedicates Gilbert Home

FRANKFORT, Kentucky — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) joined Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, Kentucky, and other well-wishers today to dedicate the Gilbert House.

This home is part of Habitat for Humanity of Henderson’s flagship homeownership program. In order to qualify, applicants must demonstrate financial need; a willingness to participate in the construction or related volunteer service; and the ability to pay the mortgage. Approved applicants are able to finance their homes through Habitat at zero percent interest for terms of 15 to 30 years.

“When we look around the state, we see everywhere that we simply do not have enough housing for everyone,” said Curtis Stauffer, managing director of Housing Contract Administration at KHC. “One organization that has been working tirelessly to change that is Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, Kentucky. We are so grateful for this partnership.”

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) allocated $40,000 for the home. Support also came from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and Field and Main Bank.
