BANGOR — MaineHousing’s 2025 Maine Affordable Housing Conference kicks off Tuesday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor — and it’s shaping up to be one of the state’s biggest housing conversations of the year.

Hosted every other year by MaineHousing, this conference alternates locations throughout the state to bring together leaders, innovators, and housing advocates for a full day of workshops, panel discussions, and idea-sharing.

This year’s program takes a close look at the past two years of progress and challenges in housing — and what lies ahead.

Topics will range from the latest housing legislation and economic trends to the growing role of modular and manufactured homes in boosting affordability. Attendees will also learn about programs and services that support housing development and help Mainers find and keep stable housing.

With experts from Maine and beyond, the event promises fresh perspectives and practical solutions on issues like:

  • Expanding homeownership opportunities
  • Improving energy efficiency and lowering housing costs
  • Addressing and providing resources to individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Municipal Response to Homelessness
  • Increasing the supply of affordable homes across the state

“MaineHousing is excited to host an extraordinary line-up of speakers, guests, and attendees,” said Erik Jorgensen, Senior Director of Government Relations and Communications. “This conference is often a great incubator for big ideas, but it also gives us the chance to reconnect with partners statewide, reflect on what we’ve accomplished, and gear up for the work still ahead.”
