KHC Honors the Life and Legacy of Board Member P.G. Peeples

FRANKFORT, Kentucky — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) mourns the passing of longtime Board Member and friend P.G. Peeples, whose leadership shaped the organization’s work for nearly four decades.

Peeples was among KHC’s longest-serving supporters, having served on the KHC Board of Directors at various intervals since 1986.

Throughout his tenure, Peeples played a pivotal role in advancing affordable housing initiatives and strengthening community development efforts throughout Kentucky.

In recognition of his extraordinary service, Peeples was awarded KHC’s Mae Street Kidd Public Service Award in 2018. When presented with this award, Peeples shared, “My time on the KHC board was a labor of love… As I drive across Kentucky, I see properties and know that a lot of the people in those houses are there because of the work of KHC.”

“At KHC, we recognize that P.G.’s legacy extends beyond affordable homes. It’s also a legacy rooted in opportunity and dignity. A legacy we are proud to share with P.G.,” says Winston Miller, executive director and CEO of KHC. “His dedication and service to the affordable housing community certainly was, as he put it, a labor of love.”

Peeples’ influence can be seen in communities across the state, especially Lexington where he led the Urban League for over 50 years. His impact will be felt for generations to come.

KHC extends its deepest condolences to Peeples’ family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
